Serenades Memory care Assisted Living at the Villages, is seeking a dynamic and caring Wellness/Resident Care Director (WRCD) that is interested in being part of a passionate senior living team committed to providing unparalleled customer service and raising the bar of senior living. The Wellness /Resident Care Director, is responsible for overseeing and directing of the resident care department including medication ordering, set-up and passing medications, hiring, training, disciplining and scheduling of direct care staff. Completing the assessment of all residents as needed and effectively communicating the results to residents in families. This position is critical to all the Sonata Partnerships and is the conduit and HUB of all communication between third party providers, administration, families, residents, nursing and caregivers. The WRCD is ultimately responsible for ensuring all changes of condition, service plan changes, task lists and other critical information is passed to appropriate individuals resulting in the appropriate services at the appropriate time and appropriate follow up as needed. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating extensive knowledge of assisted living regulations, an excellent State survey track record in a similar environment, adherence to detailed systems, strict compliance with policies and procedures, and great motivational and problem solving skills. Candidate must have the ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed and respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Experience as a Florida Wellness/Resident Care Director in a licensed Assisted Living Community for a minimum of three years is required. A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; and five years of related experience and/or training. Training and experience in Certified Nurses Aid procedures is preferred. Management and training experience is mandatory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Nurse License. Must carry a valid first aid certificate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for maintaining astute knowledge, ongoing support and Community's adherence to all Sonata Resident Care and Total Quality Success Systems.
2. Oversee the implementation and/or ongoing compliance of all resident care communication and documentation systems, including assessments, task lists, service plans, sub-assessments, change of condition, MORS, scheduling, financial controls, medical recordkeeping, risk management reporting, third party provider communication and oversight, quality assurance checks and audits.
3. Ensures the overall organization and safety of the Medication Room, distributing medications and maintaining safety and order of the Medication Room and all necessary medical supplies.
4. Hires, trains, oversee, schedules and disciplines staff as needed to ensure Sonata's service standards and procedures is being followed and that residents are receiving appropriate services and are treated in a caring and respectful manner.
5. Provides instruction and training as needed for orientation, continued education and in-service training
6. Adheres to the Company's Injury and Illness Prevention Program and consistently performs job duties in accordance with the community's safe work practices
7. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, policies and procedures of Sonata and Total Quality Services standards.
8. Provides input and recommends strategies to improve Resident Care services and overall community performance
9. Interview potential residents and complete the pre-placement assessments, identifies needs and service plans, obtain medical records and communicates to all Resident Care team member any specific instructions, ensuring proper care to proper resident at all times
10. Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director to fulfill the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Resident Care department.
11. Participate in the Manager on Duty Rotation as scheduled
11. On-call for night time and or disaster emergencies
COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITY
Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents' families, visitors and staff.
Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, team member, residence, company information and records as required by Sonata and HIPPA.
Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
Participates in training, in-services, and attends meetings as requested.
Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include supervision of Resident Care staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a proven history with a Senior Living Company and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Prior to presence in the community, applicant must have completed a Health Screening Report within 30 days of employment. A TB test result must be received with 7 days of employment. Previous Health Screening and TB test results cannot be older than 6 months. A Level II Criminal Record Clearance is required prior to applicant's starting date.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated strong leadership skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze operational and financial systems and develop written plans; ability to interface effectively with families, professional referral sources, third party health providers and other Sonata departments including Administration, Marketing, Lifestyle, Environmental Services and Dietary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, residents and families, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. Ability to write speeches, articles or publications to conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of team members and public or private groups. Ability to effectively communicate in English.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
